I'm not big on politics, but this is one movie you should spend $9.50 on. It opens in theaters tomorrow, so clear up your schedules and go buy the tickets!

For those who haven't heard the buzz/controversy about this movie, here's the trailer. http://www.fahrenheit911.com/trailer/

Everyone thought Iraq had WMD. Clinton said he did. Bush said he did. Putin said he did. Heck, Saddam thought he did too!

Luckily, WMD wasn't the main reason the US went to war in Iraq.  Saddam violated the 1991 gulf war cease fire. That was the legal reason used.

But more to the point, after 9/11, a dangerous dictator like Saddam in that part of the world could no longer be tolerated.  I am quite pleased that Saddam is gone.

They all lie, They all cheat , They all steal! In every town, In every state, In every country!

Exactly, that was my point, IP.

What makes you so sure that Kerry will be better than Bush, Clinton, or any other president?

Fact is, he wont, he will lie, cheat, and swindle, just like every other politician has done.

No, Dubya ain't perfect, but he's a lot better than that Psuedo-Catholic waffler who's trying to replace him.

As far as the WMD's, they could still be there, or maybe not. We havent checked everywhere, and I know that if I were Saddam, Id make sure I buried or otherwise hid them, rather than leave them out in the open for people to find...

Saddam in Court: "This is all a theater by Bush, the criminal."

Looks like Kerry has one more vote...

on Jul 02, 2004
Gee I think I'll vote for Kerry, but only if he can ever find a running mate. Maybe Jesse Ventura isn't too busy. You know Michael Moore really doesn't speak too highly of Bush and when Mikie wasn't sure about getting theaters to run his little home movie, the terrorist group Hezbalah offered to help and good ole Saddam Hussein says Bush is a criminal and I'm sure if I could get Osama baby on the line, he'd have some well informed advice as well.

We can debate the morality of the actions and/or inaction of the USA over the last 30 years until we're blue in the face. We might get better results though by putting our political party affiliations aside for a moment and just looking at what we're dealing with.
"to know thy enemy is to defeat thy enemy"
For years islamic extremists have infiltrated American society, received college educations, procured very good jobs and started organizations that funneled extremely large sums of money back to terrorist groups who's sole purpose is our complete destruction. What was all that money spent on? Food, medicine, clothing?.....no. That money went to weapons, explosives and supplies to construct more terrorist training camps and draft more suicide bombers. Why do you think Saddam was handing out $25,000 to each of the families of suicide murderers?
Today, Wahhabism is the dominant Islamic tradition on the Arabian penninsula. As Osama bin Laden comes from Saudi Arabia and is Wahhabi himself, Wahhabi extremism and radical ideas of purity have obviously influenced him considerably. Followers of Wahhabi Islam do not regard it as simply one school of thought out of many rather it is the only path of true Islam - nothing else really counts. Simply put, you and I - and everyone else that does not submit to them are considered infidels. Only our complete annihilation can bring about the kind of peace and harmony that this form of Islam seeks. They are not a small, isolated fringe group but a series of interconnected organizations that are getting a foot-hold in many areas of the globe spreading fear and death on any that would attempt to oppose them. Wahhabi children are taught in their schools to hate westerners from day one and nothing we've said or done , from a diplomatic standpoint, would make them change those teachings. Do you think a diplomatic solution can be reached with Osama and his ilk? I used to think so many years ago. I used to believe we could negotiate at least some kind of resentful coexistence if only to stop the attacks and counter-attacks. Then one day I realized that while we've been sitting around for decades enjoying our lives of complacency, they have been planning, plotting and breeding a new generation of suicide killers that will soon have the capability to take out entire cities, not just the occasional building or two.

I, for one, do not want to see my country sit and wait for a 9/11 x10 regardless which party wins the next election.

Gee, sounds like....Hitler, Nazi ideology....glad we didn't wait around for that little production to play out in Europe. He never attacked the US, but we sure did do the right thing didn't we

Here's a little tidbit on popularity of US wars, very relevant this weekend here in the USA. Only 37% of American Colonists supported the American War of Indepence. In hindsight, do you think we made a mistake? Let's see, instead of the United States of America, we would be the Commonwealth of America, or something like that. The western extent of our country would've been the Mississippi River, 'cause I don't think the French would've sold the Louisiana Purchase to the British back then. The rest of the west coast would've belonged to the Russians or Mexicans, depending on the outcome of the Spanish-Russian war. Two things would've still happened though, we would've still been involved in WWI and WWII and in the Gulf wars as part of the British Empire, because it is the right thing to do.

A little levity

http://www.nctimes.com/articles/2004/07/02/ap/headlines/d83irs603.txt The UN passed a resolution authorizing the multi-national force (that would include the USA, I'm guessing) to remain in Iraq, back on June 8th. Yemen and Jordan want to help with the security of Iraq. Will the madness of Bush's criminal regime, that allows small happy children all over Iraq to buy Hippy-Hippy-Shake Saddam dolls ever end?

Mikie, Mikie, where are you now? How can you let this happen? Surely you can grab your handy-cam and whip up Farenheit 9/11 part-II with this kind of madness going on. You already got the theme music...."I got the Hippy-Hippy Shakes"....and you could get Mr.T to reprise the re-enactment of Saddam's trial, since good ole Saddam will probably be taking a dirtnap by then. I can just see Mr.T up there now...."Mr. Bush, I pity the fool" Maybe you can even do a series of movies like Rocky and you could have Bush vs. Apollo Creed. "ADRIAN, ADRIAN" er.... that would be "LAURA, LAURA"

Maybe it's something to do with not being American, but I have no idea who Moore is. I decided to do a Google on 'Moore' to find out more. The first entry of any interest to me was Julianne Moore. I like her so I kinda got distracted for a while...
